Movies for Spring Break!!

Hi Everyone,

In order keep improving your English ability, you need to expose yourself to lots of material.  You should read lots of books, listen to lots of songs and, my favorite, watch movies!

We have a good collection of movies available to students in Building 3.  Here is a way you can watch a good movie and learn English at the same time.

First, get an interesting movie and watch it!  After you finish, find a few scenes that you thought were the most interesting.  Then use your smartphone to record 30 seconds of the clip.  Now you can listen to the clip on the train or while waiting for friends at McDonald's.  You'll be surprised how fast you can learn new phrases!

Here are 3 movies we have at the university that I like.  They are a bit older, but still great stories.

THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN  –  It's a cowboy version of Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

LAWRENCE OF ARABIA – Based on the true adventures of a British soldier who changed the fate of the Middle East.

STAND BY ME –  A timeless story of friendship and growing up.
